What You Need To Know About Thailand

Thailand is a wonderful place to visit, especially if you’ve never gone before. There is so much life there, and so many things to be learnt about the culture. Having said that, it’s still a good idea to do a little bit of research before your travels so you have an idea of what to expect, as you will soon realise it will be a lot different to what you’re used to.

Here is a list of the most common things you need to know and do before flying out to Thailand.

Before you go anywhere out of the country, you need to make an appointment with your doctor and tell him exactly where you plan on going and visiting. This way he can give you all the relevant vaccinations and jabs to ensure you do not fall ill while you’re away. A lot of people either skip this step to save money and time, or they just genuinely forget, but it is so important as there are different bugs that reside in foreign countries that can make you seriously ill if you haven’t had any form of prevention against them.

Thailand can be as cheap or expensive as you make it. If you’re more interested in the food markets than the fancy restaurants, then you won’t be using that much spending money. But if you like the finer things in life, then you can expect to pay big bucks. Having said that, the country itself is cheap to live in, so when you go with your budget, you will be deemed as rather rich. That may or may not last depending on how excited you get while you’re there. Just make sure that you have a decent budget to begin with so you don’t have to worry about running out of money within the first few days! Cash advance loans are a good option if you need quick money and know you can pay it back when required.

Bring Your Own Toilet Paper

While a lot of toilets will be what you’re normally used to, in some places, you will be expected to squat into a hole and do your business. If this is the case, you’ll want to be able to wipe, instead of splashing a little water on yourself – unless you want the local experience of course! – But if you don’t mind going without that, then keep some toilet paper in your bag.

Don’t Feed the Monkeys

One amazing experience while being in Thailand is the fact that there are monkeys running around freely on the beaches and around the temples, and what a sight it is to see. They are very used to people, so prepare for them to get up close and personal. As tempting as it may be – don’t feed them. If you do, they may stop to search for food from their natural environment, meaning they will start relying on humans as their food source as a pose to finding it themselves. This will stop them from being independent, wild animals, and that isn’t good. Also, don’t leave anything lying around as they will most likely grab it and run away!
